What is Polyamide 6?
The best known manufactured polyamides are often called nylons. The properties of the polyamides (nylons), which include high strength, abrasion resistance and resilience, high heat resistance and Flame Retardant make them very important in the manufacture of clothing and carpets. Both Polyamide 6 (PA6) and Polyamide 6.6 (PA6.6) are widely used in engineering materials, many different markets and applications due to their very good performance / cost ratios. For example, in cars, electrical/electronic applications, industrial applications, engineering parts, Housings, Consumer goods, connectors, for making films for food packaging. PA6 has a slightly lower temperature resistance versus PA6.6 and is also slightly less expansive.
